1992 ~ CMU Freshman Lu Torrefranca tries SCA but it doesn't wirk out. He meets an Aratari member that had moved to Pittsburgh to go to school at CMU who was advertising Dagorhir. They talk, advertise together, have a build-day in the basement of their dorm and begin having practices twice a week outside at midnight. Lu took the name Ambrose.
1993 ~ Pittsburgh Dagorhir grew quite a bit. Another Aratari person moved to Pittsburgh to start their freshman year at CMU. They got a Nero transplant too. Their practices were regularly hitting 20 people. Around Thanksgiving a whole bunch of Aratari people came down to visit their unit mates and Pittsburgh Dagorhur hosted its furst Dagorhur Event.
1994 ~ Spring semester: Things started slowing down. By the end of that semester Lu had transferred to Pitt and practices were not on his to do list.
(Lu tried starting things back up at Pitt a few years later. There was no interest.)
In The Land Of The Iron Mountains, Angaron Is Born
Winter-Spring: It was suggested that Lu get back into Dag for stress relief. He created a new character and took the name Scion.
After going back and forth through the dictionary in Tolkein's "Book of Lost Tales", Lu came up with "Angaron" as our name - which directly translates to "Iron Mountain". It seemed to fit and people liked it. We became the land of the iron hills.
Summer: Angaron was planning to go to their first event. Ragnarok 13. For Friday through Sunday.
Just after camp set up... tornados swept through.
Saturday morning half of the attendance relocated to a different site to do battles with Pentwyvern/Avalon. Rome stayed behind to work on the feast. Angaron also stayed behind to help with the food.
Angaron planned to petition to be a Full Realm... not just a "Fledgling Realm". Pittsburgh Dagorhir had basically been an outpost of Aratari / a Fledgling Realm under Aratari before this.
But It was a confusing time... tornadoes and people everywhere and no organization.
People were trying to determine if Angaron, based on geographic location, belonged to Aratari or Pentwyvern/Avalon.
Due to the storms and confusion, the actual petition didn't happen.
Semesters began again Aug/Sept:
Lithitimass arrived from Darkon/Aquillonia
Madog from Avalon
Angaron's first unit established: Madog's Droxland
Lu/Scion sketched out the Logo/Heraldry for the Realm.
Lu/Scion was finally able to petition for Angaron to be a Full Realm at RWC. (With Ravenrose from the Aratari sponsoring us)
No longer a “Fledgling Realm” under Aratari
Gained unit Numenor's Storm
(Things became strained in Dagorhir.)
The player base split, Belegarth was created...consisting mainly of mid-west realms. Avalon, an Ohio Realm went with them.
Angaron debated on participating in both organizations (which the chapter contract forbids), but in the end focused on being just in Dagorhir as we more or less came from Aratari influence.
After much debate, we signed the chapter contract with Dagorhir Battle Games, prohibiting our chapter name from being associated with Belegarth or other games and organizations. (Pentwyvern the Dagorhir Realm did not sign that Chapter Contract and now exists as a unit.)
Out Of The Ashes: Our Phoenix Rises
Angaron has been through much and has had many incarnations. We've had various leaders and done various types of events.
Un-official Angaron Listing. Somone posted about Angaron as if we're Belegarth. We are NOT. It is against our Chapter Contract to advertise this chapter as anything other than DAGORHIR. (http://geddon.org/Angaron)
