Dagorhir Culture & Coalitions

Dagorhir Culture

Dagorhir culture is fluid, to say the least. It is vast, with groyps of vikings, wereanimals, gypsies, celts, and all manner of historical and fantastical creatures.

We have groups that are party-centered and others that are more laid back. People and groups that are more RP inclined and others who are less-so. We have people that come from various backgrounds and have various interests, both in and outside of Dagorhir.

Our culture is not one thing, it is many and it it all flows togwther and is influenced by the members.

Note: The groups below were each established by the playerbase and are not officially connected to the organization.

House Valorose

Picture
Valorose: Feminine plural for valoroso
Meaning: courageous, valorous, valiant

This is a house to support the fighting women of Dagorhir!

The purpose of this house is to promote:
-Fighter education
- Women's body mechanics
-Feminine tailored armor
-Female fighting garb
-Camaraderie between ladies on and off the field
-Collaboration between all fighters who are women in these subjects to improve our participation in the sport

Note: This is a house, NOT a unit. We do not fight together. We may have meetings and sparring sessions to further improve our fighting skills, but it is NOT required for us to take the field together! The purpose of this whole house is to lift each other up as fighters and give helpful advise to each other!

Clan Vertha

Picture
Clan Vertha is not a unit, or realm. It is an alliance of support for LGBTQ+ Dagorhirrim that transcends such concepts. We, and the heterosexual and/or cisgender allies who have also joined us exist as a living breathing safe space for LGBTQ+ people within the game and at events. We support each other in our right to be true to ourselves and to be safe in having our nerdy fun. This is through being visible at events and our closed Facebook group.

Be the change you want to see. Vertha is the old Norse verb for "to change." We literally strive to be the change. As to the choice of the designation Clan, that came from the word's association with family units, something LGBTQ+ people often have to create for themselves as their families of origin often fail them. However, a secondary meaning is that "family" is old school gay and lesbian code for "one of us."

Brotherhood Of Red

Picture
This is a coalition for experienced, new, and aspiring Red fighters alike. They are there for build support, safety help, and general Red weapon discussions.

House Of Leather & Steel

Picture
This is a coalition of those that belong to a specific "dating" sub-culture and have brought it within the Dagorhir community. Strings are worn tied through the three open spaces and are color-coded to match the wearer's preferences.
